Seymour Hersh on "How America Destroyed the Nord Stream Pipeline"

In an interview conducted by Amy Goodman for Democracy Now, Seymour Hersh, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist, claimed that the U.S. Navy, with the help of Norway, sabotaged the Nord Stream pipelines

that transport natural gas from Russia to Germany last September. Hersh cites a source "with direct knowledge of the operational planning," stating that the mission began in December 2021. The White House and the Norwegian government have denied these accusations. Hersh argues that this action aimed to ensure continued support from allies for Ukraine.

Hersh, known for exposing the My Lai massacre and prisoner abuses at Abu Ghraib, emphasizes that the U.S. feared Europe might withdraw from the conflict in Ukraine.
