Fires Triggered in Waste Processing Facilities by Mini-Batteries

Up to 30 fires per week are breaking out in waste processing facilities in Germany.

The culprit is mini-batteries found in disposable e-cigarettes or in flashing sneaker soles, along with careless consumers.

On August 10, 2023, flames destroyed a waste sorting plant in Dresden, caused by lithium batteries.
