McKinsey pays 650 million $ to avoid prosecution for its role in the opioid crisis

In a deferred prosecution agreement (DPA) with the United States government, McKinsey agrees to pay $650 million to avoid a criminal trial related to its role in the opioid crisis, which has caused over 800,000 deaths since 1999.

The consulting firm, already in trouble for destroying compromising documents, is under supervision for five years as part of the agreement.
